CONTEXT AND CHALLENGE
Uber, the world’s largest mobility platform, needed to optimize payment processing for its drivers in Latin America. The main challenge was to ensure that driver-partners’ earnings were available immediately, without delays or complications, while also enabling users to pay using a wide variety of payment methods.
OUR SOLUTIONS
INSWITCH implemented its digital banking platform to enable the creation and management of digital accounts linked to Uber-issued cards, allowing drivers to receive payments in real time. Additionally, thanks to the integration of INSWITCH’s payment API, Uber was able to automate fund disbursements (funds-out) to bank accounts and digital wallets in a matter of seconds.
To enhance the user payment experience, a comprehensive payment management system was implemented, allowing the acceptance of cards, cash, and local methods such as SPEI in Mexico and Pix in Brazil. This reduced payment friction and increased the platform’s accessibility.
INSWITCH also provided a KYC/KYB compliance engine with real-time identity verification and fraud monitoring, ensuring transaction security and ecosystem trust. Thanks to its modular cloud-based infrastructure, Uber was able to rapidly scale its financial solution into new markets without incurring high operational costs.
